Dear fellow Pine Tree members,

I hope everyone had a great summer.   At the Club the upgrades to the outdoor ranges have been completed, the website is up and running and the Sunday outdoor pin shoots have been a success.

It’s time to start planning Club business for 2009.  This year our 2008 annual dinner will be held on Tuesday evening, October 21st at the Foster Country Club, just five short minutes from Pine Tree off of route 6.  Collection of dues will start at 5pm and the meeting and dinner will start at 7pm.  We explored more than a half dozen locations and the Foster Country Club gave us a great dinner selection, two large rooms, ample parking and all at a great price.  Directions to Foster Country Club can be found on our website (www.pinetreegunclub.org) or by calling the FCC at 401- 397-5990.

This year we are utilizing a new system for member identification and access to our facilities.  New keys for the outside gate will be given to members at the time dues are paid along with a sequentially numbered badge that will correspond to the member it  is assigned to.  These badges MUST be easily observable at all times when on Club property (on a hat, coat, gun bag etc).  Please remember, DUES MUST BE PAID IN PERSON.  Payment for other members will not be accepted, keys or badges will not be given out and electronic door cards will not be re-charged for 2009 unless the member pays in person.

As always this years meeting will include nomination of all Officers and one Executive Committee member.  At the present time the President, Vice President and Secretary will be running for another term.  The positions of Treasurer and Chief Range Officer are currently open.  We invite you to submit your nominations for these two positions, the open executive committee position as well as nominations for any other office currently held.  Send your nomination to Mr. Ed Gould prior to October 21st

Other items on our agenda will include: a discussion on the current system for sponsorship of new members.  The current system has left many potential new members without the ability to join our Club simply because they don’t know anyone.  The Junior Team Raffle will be held again this year.  Historically Pine Tree members have been very generous in donating items for this raffle prior to or on the evening of our annual meeting.  All of the proceeds from this raffle benefit the Pine Tree Junior Rifle Team and help defray the costs of teaching our future shooting enthusiast the discipline, safety and enjoyment of shooting.

As always, we look forward to seeing everyone on October 21st at the Foster Country Club in Foster RI.  Should you have any questions regarding the raffle or regarding the meeting itself please feel free to call me at 401-647-4943.
